About the project

Trade Connectors delivers GS1-compliant digital solutions for packaging management and product data sharing across the EU. The GS1Trade Packaging platform helps manufacturers manage product units, packaging components, and regulatory compliance data - all in one place.

What I Worked On

Joined an existing design team to contribute to a fast-evolving compliance platform. The focus was on designing new features, reworking the design system, and translating complex EU legislative requirements into clear, usable interfaces.

1. Designing the new Digital Link feature from concept through to production-ready UI

2. Reworking and extending the existing design system to support new components and patterns

3. Translating complex EU packaging and recyclability legislation into clear user flows

4. Collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure legislative compliance

Challenge

EU legislation around packaging, recyclability, and Digital Link was rapidly evolving, requiring the platform to accommodate new compliance workflows without disrupting existing users. The design system also needed a structural rework to support the growing product surface and maintain consistency across a complex, data-heavy application.

Solution

Designed the new Digital Link feature from scratch, enabling products to carry GS1-compliant digital identifiers linked to full packaging and recyclability data. Reworked and extended the existing design system to support new components and patterns. Collaborated closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure designs aligned with EU legislative requirements while keeping the user experience clear and efficient for daily use.
